Have you ever imagined that some features may bring more fun and usability while using Netflix?
In this article, I'm going to share some of my thoughts and ideas and explain why I think it'll be a good one for Netflix.

Power of Community
As you may see, Netflix has strong social media strategies on all platforms, but why there isn't any sign on its product?
Why communities are important?
It’s natural for people to avoid feeling alone when it comes to experiencing their lives. This is why they seek to connect with others about topics and things they are passionate about.
People today are looking for meaningful relationships and looking for others with whom they can exchange systems and build relationships.
Strong communities provide a sense of belonging and social connection. To live a fulfilling life, one must be a part of a community based on attitudes, values, and goals.
Social isolation can have profound effects on our health. An early study on COVID-19’s psychological impact found that loneliness had the greatest psychological impact on people’s health. Low social connections have a high-risk level, chronic disease, and mental impacts on health.

What are community building's benefits in products?
- Increase brand loyalty and trust
- Encourage new ideas based on consumer feedback
- Grow brand awareness
- Market your products through word of mouth
- Increase user interaction and retention
- Feel connected with customers through more than just your products
- Gain and use user-generated content (UGC)
How to create community
- Create a loyalty program or membership program
- Offer special incentives to your subscribers
- Create a memorable customer experience
- Interact with community members on social media
- Encourage consumers to recommend products
- Send out a newsletter
- Create an online community space for your loyal fans (like a Facebook group, Twitter community, or Discord server)
- Share user-generated content, such as social media posts
- Allow loyal customers to unlock discounts and special offers with a rewards program

Suggestions
Now that we are aware of community profits, it's time to dive into the ideas and suggestions deeply.
- Comments
Netflix could let users share their opinion about movies and each series episode they have watched as a comment. Others can read and reply to the comments. So it brings UGC plus user communication. The result could be more engagement and stickiness. - Rewarding
Encourage users to watch more. Based on the watching speed, comments, rating, and so on, Netflix could give points, badges, discounts, or any other prizes. - Follow one another
Let users follow each other to share interests, and observe what others are watching and what they like or dislike. - Social media
Let users share their status from Netflix to other social media. People like to brag and show off their level and achievements so let them!

Gamification is a key
Add games to non-game elements, and make tasks, processes, and systems more fun and enjoyable by simply adding game mechanics.
There is no doubt that gamification has become a normal part of our lives on a daily basis, whether we realize it or not. There are countless ways to integrate gamification into applications. From badges and progress bars to rewards on fitness apps for completing workouts, or even Starbucks’ loyalty program for free coffee, gamification is here.
Why Gamification is important?
Engagement is raised. Getting people engaged is what Gamify is all about. Your company benefits from engagement when it brings in more revenue as a result of positive awareness. This is because positive awareness creates loyal customers and raises engagement, which, in turn, drives more profit. Compared to paid one engagement leaves your brand ahead of mind when users are ready to buy, leaving them with a dopamine hit after their experience.
Enhances brand loyalty. Building brand loyalty with gamification is one of the best ways to do so. Dopamine, a brain chemical that is associated with feeling good, is released when a user wins a badge, prize, or a certain number of points from a game. As a result, your customers will be attracted to you when they purchase your product.
Last but not least, gamification allows you to collect valuable data. A gamified marketing campaign’s data is likely to be its most essential component, measuring players’ drop-offs, unique players, and return rates, as well as collecting names and email addresses.

How to create a Gamification strategy?
- Create a level playing field
All participants will have a better understanding of how the game works, what the goal is, and how to succeed when it becomes level playing. - Consider the big picture
A gamification initiative can cause a lot of excitement at first, but over time it can fade, especially if your efforts are too complex. Gamification is generally very appealing at first, but over time, the enthusiasm fades, especially if they are too complex. - It’s not just about the top performer.
It’s a winner’s world! Part of a performance evaluation should be based on participation. The fact that 90% of your participants are fully engaged in your program is a huge accomplishment, regardless of whether your top 10% drive most of the results. So celebrate them all.
The top performers deserve rewards, but also your participants. If you don’t see that part, you’ll defiantly let the users go with your own hands. - Think creatively about the rewards
Some prizes are more effective than others. It would be more exciting to give away an iPad or iPhone rather than a discount, which is the solution for any other campaign. Material rewards, however, may not be appropriate for all teams or companies. It is also important to note that these rewards are low- or no-cost, giving gamification a connection to the entire business. - Reports and tracking
This helps participants understand their performance and how to improve it. As well as that, it provides the program leader with an understanding of whether or not the program is generating results. - Make it shareable
In human physiology, it’s necessary for a person to show the community he or she belongs to. He or she may reflect on the activities they participate in, as well as their successes and achievements. It’s become even more popular now that Instagram and LinkedIn are so popular. - Set challenges
If you set a challenge or a puzzle for users to solve, the eagerness to find the solution and the joy of solving and being successful will become a memorable experience that can be passed on to family and friends as a story.

Suggestions
So considering everything, let's see some suggestions to gamify Netflix:
- Rewarding
I mention this one earlier. - Level play
Depending on their activity, users could level up. Each level could have a fun nickname, such as “Watcher,” from “What if…” TV shows, for players who watch everything. In addition, users should be able to see how their level can be improved. - Shareable little fun things
You might use Chandler Bing’s quote from the Friends TV show if users write fun criticism. In order to share it on Instagram as a story.
An interesting campaign that connects movie characters with users by completing a survey. - Set small challenges
To get the number of points, users must complete a season of a show in 2 days for instance. In another example, make a recap video competition for an upcoming season of a specific show.
Wrap up
The point I’m trying to make is that even if you have a strong and recognized brand, you should spice up your product to keep users from switching, otherwise they would find another similar product and drop. The most critical thing to remember is that no matter what you are, whether you’re Netflix, Samsung, or MacDonald, you should always think of creative and fun ways to get people’s attention.
